Olivia Denmark (softball),
Esther Seeland (women's track & field), and
Rachel Marcroft (women's tennis) all earned respective weekly accolades for their quality performances last week.
Seeland claims her fourth-straight MAC Track Athlete of the Week award as Denmark earns her first MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week nod, becoming the second Messiah softball player to earn the honor (
Madison Walter). Marcroft earns her second MAC Women's Player of the Week accolade of the 2022 campaign.
Olivia Denmark – MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week – Softball
Denmark had a tremendous offensive showing in Messiah's four games this past weekend. The junior went an impressive 7-for-10 at the dish, totaling seven RBIs, four runs, and four walks. While slashing .700/.786/1.786, Denmark recorded two three-hit games over the weekend, highlighted by a three-RBI performance in a 8-0 thrashing of Dickinson College in Game One of a Saturday doubleheader in Grantham.
Esther Seeland – MAC Track Athlete of the Week – Women's Track & Field
As mentioned, Seeland records her fourth-consecutive MAC weekly award of the outdoor track and field season. Seeland competed in the 800m at the Larry Ellis Invitational of Friday afternoon, hosted by Princeton University. The senior runner topped the 35-runner field, filled with NCAA DI competition, with a winning time of 2:04.85.
Rachel Marcroft - MAC Women's Player of the Week - Women's Tennis
Rachel Marcroft (Messiah / Sr. / Lancaster, Pa.) earns her second weekly conference honor of the season. Marcroft was a key factor in Messiah's 7-2 win over Stevenson. She teamed up with Rebekah Sheaffer in doubles to win 8-1 over a pair of Mustangs. Marcroft carried that victory into singles, winning 6-0, 6-2 to help Messiah to their second conference win of the season.
