SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Messiah men's track and field team competed at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University on Saturday. The Falcons issued quality performances in both track events and field events, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 1500m from
Brody Beiler (3:57.88).
In addition to today's competition, Messiah competed in the Penn Relays yesterday (Apr. 29) in Philadelphia, Pa.
Brendan Provan represented Messiah in the triple jump event, registering a mark of 13.96m.
Notable Performers
The Falcons had several standout performances from today's competition.
Lance Kauffman represented Messiah in the 10,000m event, earning a fourth-place finish within a competitive field of eight runners. Kauffman crossed the line with a time of 35:10.07.
Alex Scheib turned in a quality performance in the 800m, placing sixth overall with a time of 1:57.21. Scheib competed in a competitive field of 60 total runners as
Logan Horst (1:57.62) also recorded a top-ten finish, placing eighth overall.
Brody Beiler represented Messiah in the 1500m, earning an impressive fourth-place finish with a time of 3:57.88.
Josiah McCarthy also competed in the event, crossing the line in 4:08.49.
Messiah had plenty of athletes record strong performances in field events.
Noah Keitel competed in the long jump, leaping to a top mark of 5.67m. Keitel also represented the Falcons in the triple jump event, placing 19th overall with a mark of 12.10m.
Ryan O'Donnell competed in the shot put, registering a distance of 9.62m. In the discus,
Christian Pilawski turned in a top-20 performance, achieving a mark of 34.85m.
What's Next
Messiah travels to DeSales University this Thursday, May 5, to compete in the 2022 MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Falcons will seek its third outdoor track and field conference championship in program history at the three-day event (May 5-7).
