Marcroft and Lee Earn Women's Tennis All-Conference Honors

ANNVILLE, Pa. - On Thursday morning, the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced the All-MAC Commonwealth Teams for the 2021-22 women's tennis season. Among the honorees were a pair of Messiah women's tennis players with Rachel Marcroft and Nicole Lee earning accolades. Rachel Marcroft claimed Second Team laurels while Nicole Lee was celebrated with an Honorable Mention nod.
 
The Falcons finished the season with an overall record of 6-12, but held a 4-3 mark in the conference to clinch the final spot in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament. Messiah's season wrapped up with the Falcons falling to the eventual Conference Champion Lebanon Valley Dutchmen in the MAC Commonwealth Semifinals.
 
Rachel Marcroft claimed a Second Team nod this season for her second-straight All-MAC Commonwealth honor after she was named an Honorable Mention last season. In 2021-22, Marcroft held a 7-10 overall singles record with a 4-3 mark in the conference. Marcroft played all 17 of her singles matches in the No. 2 slot. Additionally, Marcoft teamed up with Rebekah Sheaffer in doubles play with the duo holding an overall record of 11-7. They went 11-6 on court two while dropping their only match on the top court. In conference play, Marcroft and Sheaffer went 5-2 in doubles action.
 
Nicole Lee was named an Honorable Mention All-Conference honoree this season after holding an overall record of 7-8, playing on courts four and five throughout the season. Lee was especially strong in conference with a 5-2 record. She went 5-5 in No. 4 singles on the year. Lee appeared sparingly in doubles play, but did earn a pair of victories at No. 3 doubles with Hannah Murray, going 2-2 in non-conference action.
