Three Falcons Earn IWLCA All-Region Honors

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - On Thursday morning, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the 272 student-athletes that were named to their NCAA Division III All-Region teams. Among those honorees, were a trio of Falcons with Rachel Delate earning First Team All-Metro Region honors while Emma Hagg and Grace Gormley were named Second Team All-Region.
 
Delate's First Team All-Region honor is the second-straight of her career after she was named First Team last season as well. For Hagg and Gormley, the All-Region honor is the first of their career.
 
Rachel Delate followed up a stellar 2021 season with another great 2022 campaign notching First Team All-Conference honors and scoring a team and conference-high 67 goals. Delate scored 90 points on the season, dishing out 23 assists along with her 67 scores. She averaged 4.74 points per game while scoring a season-high nine points against Alvernia on Apr. 6 with six goals and three assists. On 12 occasions, Delate netted at least four goals, scoring her season-high of six four different times. Delate was also strong on the draw control, winning 47 draws on the season. She also caused 13 turnovers and picked up 20 ground balls.
 
Just over a week after being named the MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year, Emma Hagg picked up her first career All-Region honor, being named to the Second Team. The first-year defender had a phenomenal inaugural campaign as a Falcon, leading the team in caused turnovers (31) while accumulating 46 ground balls. Hagg recorded nine games with multiple caused turnovers, including a career-high four caused turnovers against Franklin & Marshall (Mar. 2).
 
Grace Gormley was honored with her first career All-Region honor, claiming a Second Team accolade after the 2022 season. From the midfield, Gormley did a little bit of everything this season, scoring 29 goals and assisting on seven others while picking up 50 ground balls and snagging 79 draw controls. Gormley also caused 24 turnovers while committing just 13 of her own. The junior midfielder totaled 36 points on the season, recording a career-high six goals at St. Mary's (Md.) on Mar. 10. Gormley notched eight multi-goal games throughout the 2022 campaign.
 
The Falcons wrapped up their 2022 campaign last weekend in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 13-6.
