ANNVILLE, Pa. – This week the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) will be releasing the preseason coaches polls for the 2022 fall seasons. Follow this article all week long to see where the Falcons land in the preseason rankings.
The Falcons are set to begin their fall season on Sept. 1 with men's soccer, women's soccer, field hockey, men's cross country, and women's cross country all getting underway. Women's volleyball is slated to start the new year on Friday, Sept. 2 in the Gettysburg Invitational.
Stay tuned throughout the week as the Fall Preseason Polls will be released once a day.

Men's Soccer
The Messiah Falcons were selected as the favorite in the 2022 conference preseason poll conducted among the MAC Commonwealth men's soccer coaches. The Falcons collected all eight first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 64 points.
Messiah claimed their 16th MAC Commonwealth Championship last season with a 2-1 victory over Lebanon Valley in overtime. This season, Messiah will begin the new year on Sept. 1 at 7:00 p.m. against the Washington & Lee Generals in a rematch of last season's Elite Eight in Lexington, Va.

In 2021, the Falcons claimed their 19th MAC Commonwealth title 7-3 over Widener. Their season begins on September 1 when the Falcons host Dickinson College at 7:00 PM.

Women's Volleyball
The Messiah Falcons begin the season in the third spot in the 2022 conference preseason poll conducted among the MAC Commonwealth women's volleyball coaches. The Falcons trail only Eastern and Stevenson in the rankings to begin the season.
In 2021, the Falcons finished 20-9 and reached the semifinal round of the MAC Commonwealth tournament. This season, Messiah will begin its season at the Gettysburg Invitational with a tournament match against Penn State Altoona.

In 2021, the Falcons claimed their 18th MAC Commonwealth title after defeating York 3-0. Messiah fell to TCNJ 2-1 in the second round of the NCAA tournament with an overall record of 17-3-1.
