The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, October 1 when they host Penn State Harrisburg at 2:00 PM in Grantham, Pa.

SATURDAY
WILKES BARRE, PA - Rachel Dougherty was the lone Falcon to advance into day two of the MAC Individuals, winning her semifinal match to give her a championship bid tomorrow morning. Multiple other Falcons found success in the early rounds but fell in their quarterfinal matchups.

The action will begin tomorrow at 9:00 AM at Kirby Park where Dougherty will battle Stevens for the No. 7 singles championship.

KASI CONJACK
Teaming up with Strohecker at No. 1 doubles, Conjack and Strohecker won four straight games to win their pro set 8-5 against Hood after being down early 4-5. Their quarterfinal matchup did not go as well as they dropped their pro set to Stevens 0-8. Conjack followed that up with a convincing win over Hood 6-2, 6-1 in the #1 singles bracket and then ran into the number one seeded Brianna Pizzano of Misericordia. Pizzano won 6-0, 6-0.

BELLA HECKMAN
Heckman joined forces with Walker at #2 doubles and swept Albright 8-0 to begin their young college careers. In their quarterfinal matchup against LVC, they fell 2-8. In the No. 2 singles bracket, Heckman played a close match against Albright but also fell 4-6, 3-6.

KYLIE WALKER
As mentioned above, Walker teamed up with Heckman and won their first doubles match but dropped the second one. In No. 3 singles, Walker played a close match against LVC, but lost in a second set tiebreak, 2-6, 6-7(5).

NICOLE LEE
Lee and Tozzi took the courts in the number three doubles bracket and fell to Morrissey Walsh and Eleanor Beck of York College 5-8. Lee played in the fourth singles bracket, winning in thrilling fashion in the first round via a third set tiebreak. Lee won 7-6(5), 3-6, (10-4) to advance to the quarterfinals. In said quarterfinal matchup, Lee fell to Misericordia 4-6, 0-6.

KIERSTEN STROHECKER
Strohecker played with Conjack at number one singles and won 8-5 to set up a quarterfinal date with Stevens. Stevens won 8-0. In singles at #5, Strohecker won in a close match against DeSales 6-2, 7-6(5). In her next match against Misericordia, she fell 2-6, 3-6.

ANGELA TOZZI
As mentioned earlier, Tozzi and Lee lost to York College 5-8 in number three doubles. In singles, Tozzi won 6-2, 6-4 to set up a match against LVC. After playing a well fought first set, Tozzi lost 4-6, 0-6 in the number six singles bracket.

RACHEL DOUGHERTY
In doubles, Dougherty paired with Lentz and advanced via bye to the semis. They lost to Stevens 0-8. In singles, Dougherty found success. The only Falcon to advance to tomorrow's action, The Doc certainly did not disappoint and was the last chance Messiah had at advancing to tomorrow. With all the other matches completed, Dougherty was the final match to finish on the day, with every other Falcon being eliminated from contention.  With only seven people in the number seven singles bracket, The Doc had to win one match to make it to the finals. She did not disappoint. Dougherty won convincingly 6-0 in the first set before finding herself down 0-4 in the second set before rattling off seven of the next eight games winning 7-5 to take the match 6-0, 7-5 giving her a bid in the championship.

ANNA LENTZ
Lentz teamed with Rachel Dougherty in the number four doubles bracket and got a bye into the semis. Then they lost 0-8 to Stevens in that semifinal match.
