GRANTHAM, PA - The Messiah Falcons swept the Penn State Altoona Nittany Lions 3-0 (27-25, 26-24, 25-15) to improve their record to 14-2 on the year. Mackenzie Feight led the team in kills with 18 on the night while Maddy Eby led the team in digs with 20. Emma Swartz tacked on 37 assists as well.

Action
In a back and forth first set which saw 12 ties and nine lead changes, no team led by more than four in the set. After being tied at 17-all, Altoona took a 21-17 lead and then a 23-20 advantage. Messiah rallied back to take a 24-23 lead before Altoona answered and went up one 25-24. A Feight kill and service ace along with a Bowen kill gave the Falcons the three points needed to take the first set 27-25.

The second set was similar to the first set in that no team led by more than three up until a four point lead from Altoona at 24-20. However, earlier in the set Altoona rattled off six straight points to take a 14-11 lead and traded points with Messiah until gaining that 24-20 lead. Messiah clawed their way back with the fans getting restless. After winning a critical long rally, the fans rose to their feet as Messiah was gaining all of the momentum. A kill by Feight gave the Falcons a 25-24 lead and then Lielbriedis capped off the impressive comeback with a service ace that clipped the line.

Messiah would pull away in the third set, taking a commanding 12-5 lead. That held until Messiah closed the set with a 25-15 win, claiming the set 3-0 (27-25, 26-24, 25-15).

Stats
Feight led the team in kills with 18 while Lielbriedis and Barnhart each added ten kills. Emma Swartz tacked on 37 assists and 19 digs in the win while Maddy Eby led the team in digs with 20.
