OWINGS MILLS, MD – Despite two separate runs of 20-2 and 20-9 for the Mustangs, the Falcons found themselves within six with under a minute to go, but ultimately fell to Stevenson 78-69.
Bryce Coletti had a team high 17 points and eight assists.
The Falcons will host the Widener Pride on Saturday, January 21 at 6:00 PM on Jordan Court in Hitchcock Arena.
First Half
The Falcons used a quick three minutes to take a 7-2 lead but Stevenson would take over from that point going on a 20-2 run to open the game up in the Mustangs favor. Messiah would cut the lead to ten at one point, but the Mustangs finished out the first half up 35-22.
Second Half
The Falcons trimmed the lead to seven (39-32) but again Stevenson used a dominant 20-9 run to take a commanding 59-41 advantage. Messiah would rally back, even going on a 10-1 run of their own to cut the score to seven at 70-63 with 50 seconds to go. Then the Mustangs led by 6 at 72-66 but it was too late as the Mustangs finished out the game and won 78-69.

Bryce Coletti led the Falcons with 17 points and assists with eight while
Tyler Penley and
Cole Fisher each added 14 points. Penley led the team in rebounds with seven.
The Falcons shot 40% from the floor and 48% from beyond the arc in the game.

The loss drops the Falcons losing streak to three and their record becomes 8-9. The Falcons also hold a 3-5 conference mark and are in danger of missing the conference playoffs for the seventh time in ten seasons. Conference opponent Widener is up next for the Falcons on Jan. 21 at 6:00 PM in Grantham, Pa. In their earlier matchup this season, the Pride took down the Falcons 66-58 in Chester, Pa back in December.
