GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Messiah men's basketball team fell to the Bullets of Gettysburg 77-57 in the Consolation game of the Gettysburg Tip-Off Tournament. The Falcons fall to 0-2 on the young season.
Cole Fisher led the Falcons with 15 points, while
Caleb Lyles added eight points and eight rebounds in the loss.
The Falcons will be back in action Friday, Nov 17 at home, as the team hosts the Messiah Tip-Off Tournament. The Falcons will play SUNY Old Westbury in day one of the tournament. Tip-off is set for 7:30p.m.
First Half
The Falcons kept it interesting through the first nine minutes of the first half, only trailing the Bullets 22-18.

Evan Parker,
Cole Fisher, and
Caleb Lyles did most of the scoring through the mid-way point of the half. However, the Bullets began to slowly extend their lead, with three minutes remaining the Falcons were trailing 33-22. Messiah managed to cut the lead to four following big baskets from
Bryce Coletti,
Ethan Johnson, Parker, and Fisher, entering the half only down 37-33.
Second Half Action
To begin the second half the Bullets came out firing, extending their lead 10 through the first four minutes. However, the Falcons would begin to slowly chip away at the lead. Lyles, Johnson, and Fisher would help Messiah bring the score to 47-43 with 13 minutes remaining in the game. Following some strong defense from the Falcons Lyles, and Johnny Mcbride would find the bottom of the net tying the game at 47. After a quick exchange of baskets from both teams, with the score tied at 49 the Bullets began to take full control of the game. As time went on the Falcons could not get a basket to drop as they watched the Bullets take a commanding 19-point lead. From then on it would be a free throw affair for Gettysburg as they drop the Falcons 77-57.
