NFHCA Recognizes Four Falcons as Scholars of Distinction

GENEVA, N.Y. – Late last week, four Messiah field hockey student-athletes were honored as Division III Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). Messiah's Mallory Kline, Abby Lamison, Allie Mast, and Tori Williams were celebrated by carrying a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of over 3.90 through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year.
 
In total there were 477 student-athletes honored with the accolade across all of Division III.
 
In addition to their Scholars of Distinction honors, Allie Mast and Mallory Kline were celebrated with All-MAC Commonwealth nods this past season. Allie Mast was named an Honorable Mention honoree while Mallory Kline earned Rookie of the Year honors as well as Second Team laurels.
 
As a team, the Messiah field hockey program put together another tremendous season, winning their 15th-straight MAC Commonwealth Championship and advancing to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. The Falcons finished the season with an overall record of 17-3.
