ALTOONA, PA. - The No. 7 ranked Messiah men's volleyball team took care of Penn State Altoona this evening, winning easily 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-17). Jacob Hamm led the Falcons in kills with nine. As a team, Messiah dominated throughout the match, hitting at a .508 on the evening. The Falcons finished with 38 kills against just eight errors in three sets.
 
Messiah will be on the road this weekend for a tournament at Eastern Mennonite. They will face Southern Virginia on Friday, February 24, at 7:00 PM in Harrisonburg, Va. to start the weekend's matches.

Messiah allowed a total of 47 points across three matches and was in control from the start. The Falcons took the first two sets by identical scores of 25-15 before clinching the sweep with a 25-17 victory in the third.
 
Messiah hit north of .350 in each of the three sets, hitting their high-water mark of .824 in the second set, flooring 15 kills with just one error on 17 swings. As mentioned, Jacob Hamm led the Falcons with nine kills, but it was a shared effort for Messiah with Alex Kagoro and Zac Barbato finishing with seven kills each. Four other Falcons earned multiple kills while Matt Knab dished out 31 assists and added eight service aces.

The Falcons will hit the road for some stiffer competition this weekend when they take on No. 11 Southern Virginia on Friday night, followed by Eastern Mennonite and Randolph-Macon on Saturday in Harrisonburg, Va. Messiah and Southern Virginia will square off on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
