FREDERICK, MD. – The Messiah women's basketball team continued to build on their impressive winning streak, winning their 16
th game in a row against Hood this afternoon 70-52.
Megan Zimmerman led the Falcons with 15 points while
Faith Grula added 14.
Morgan Adams had a team high nine boards in the game.
The Falcons will travel to Reading for a conference matchup against the Alvernia Golden Wolves on Wednesday, February 8, at 8:00 PM.

The Blazers had a quick 4-2 lead in the first quarter, but it would be the last lead Hood would have in the game. The Falcons finished the first quarter on a 15-7 run to take a 17-11 lead into the second stanza.
Messiah continued to build on the lead, stretching it to 18 at the 4:09 mark of the second quarter as Messiah led 35-17. The Blazers cut the deficit to 13 at the intermission, ending the half of a 7-2 run.
Hood continued to chip away at the deficit, coming to within eight with under the four minutes to go in the third. Messiah answered the call in the final three minutes, going on a 10-0 run to take the lead back to a commanding 18 points. The Falcons didn't let up and closed the game with a 70-52 win.

Morgan Adams had a team high nine rebounds and also added 12 points on the afternoon. The Falcons shot 42% from the floor and 11% from beyond the arc.

The win takes the Falcons record to 19-2 and a perfect 12-0 mark in the conference. Messiah is currently on a 16-game winning streak that started back on November 30, 2022 and will look to make it 17 next week. The Falcons will travel to Reading, Pa. to face the Alvernia Golden Wolves on Wednesday, February 8, at 8:00 PM for their next action.
