CARLISLE, Pa. – The Messiah Falcons and Dickinson Red Devils ran out of daylight on Wednesday night, playing to a 10-10 tie in Carlisle. The Falcons held a 10-7 lead at the seventh-inning stretch, but three eighth-inning runs by the Red Devils tied things up. In the bottom of the ninth, the Red Devils threatened, but Messiah was able to wiggle out of a two-on, no-out jam to earn the rare tie.
Isaiah Parido and
Jarrett Gordon each registered three hits in the game with Parido knocking two doubles and driving home three runs.
With the tie, Messiah moves to 2-4-1 on the season and will have a quick turnaround as they host the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at home.
On the Diamond
After Dickinson got on the board in the bottom of the first, the Falcons generated 4-1 lead through four innings.
Evan Wagaman scored on a fielder's choice in the second inning while the Falcons added two runs in the third and one in the fourth via singles from Josh Ammons,
Sam Zercher and
Dustin Isanogle that brought in runs.
The bottom of the fifth inning was not kind to the Falcons, as Dickinson took a 5-4 lead as the teams headed to the sixth frame. That top of the sixth inning was kind to the Falcons, as they scored five runs on a throwing error, single, hit by pitch and double to make the game 9-5 in favor of Messiah. The Falcons tacked on another run in the seventh after the Red Devils added two in the bottom of the sixth to take a 10-7 lead.
The bottom of the eighth was also not kind to the Falcons, as the Red Devils scored three times to tie the game in the eighth. After two scoreless innings of baseball, the game was called due to darkness and ended in a 10-10 tie.

Dustin Isanogle went 2-5 with two hits, a run and two RBI and
Joshua Ammons went 1-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Jarrett Gordon has a nice day at the dish, going 3-3 with three runs and a walk.
Isaiah Parido also registered three hits in the game, going 3-5 and three RBI.
Brody Martin started on the hill for the Falcons and went 5.0 IP with five strikeouts and allowed five earned runs on six hits.
