ANNVILLE, PA. - The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its All-MAC Commonwealth all-conference selections as well as its individual awards this morning and multiple Falcons were selected for their efforts this season.
Reese Harden earned a First Team selection while
Morgan Adams and
Megan Zimmerman added Second Team Honors. All of the selections are the first of their respective careers.
Reese Harden - First Team
Reese Harden was the floor general of the Falcon offense this year as she led the Falcons in several categories on her way to her first All-MAC Commonwealth accolade, resulting in a First Team selection. On a per game basis Harden led the Falcons in points with 13, assists with 2.9 and minutes at 33.4 and started in all 27 games for Messiah. Twice during the season, Harden reached the 19-point mark, once on November 12 against Rochester and again against LVC on February 18. In that same February 18 game against LVC Harden tacked on nine rebounds with those 19 points.
Morgan Adams - Second Team
Morgan Adams was selected to her first All-MAC Commonwealth Honor as well, earning a Second Team nod. Averaging 11 points per game, Adams led the teams under the glass generating a team high 7.7 rebounds per game and averaging just over a block per game (1.2) also a team high mark. The junior was also a threat from the midrange, shooting over 52% from the field on the season leading the Falcons. Adams started in 25 games and appeared in 26 on the year and most notably scored 24 points on January 21 against Widener. Adams also recorded five double doubles (points and rebounds) on the season.
Megan Zimmerman - Second Team
Megan Zimmerman also found the Second Team ballot, earning her first All-MAC Commonwealth accolade of her career. Zimmerman as well was dominant from the midrange and under the glass. Averaging 11.3 points per game and just under four rebounds per game (3.7). The graduate student shot over 48% from the field and played in 22 games for the Falcons, starting 21 of them. On January 28, Zimmerman scored 18 points, her season high. Throughout the year, Zimmerman tallied two double doubles (points and rebounds) on the season. Recently in the MAC Championship, Zimmerman was awarded the Tournament's MVP for her performance in the MAC Playoffs.
The consistent play from these players have pushed the Falcons into the NCAA Tournament where they will face Bridgewater State in the First round on Friday, March 3.
