GRANTHAM, PA. - The Messiah men's tennis team fell to the DeSales Bulldogs this afternoon by a score of 3-6. The third doubles team of
Jonathan Baker/
Carl Anderson as well as
Chase Wilson at No. 1 singles and
Michael Niemi at No. 4 were the only winners on the day.
The Falcons are back on the courts when they travel to Scranton to face the Royals at 4:00 PM on March 22.
On the Courts
The Falcons were ambushed on court one with Wilson/Sell getting outmatched to start off the afternoon losing 1-8. Niemi/Gingerich dropped court two 4-8 but it was the team of
Carl Anderson and
Jonathan Baker who earned the lone doubles point with their 8-4 win at No. 3.
At No. 1 singles,
Chase Wilson won 6-3, 6-3 for the Falcons second win of the afternoon, while
Michael Niemi on court four singles won his match 6-1, 6-4 for the Falcons final point of the match.Â
At No. 2, 3, 5 & 6, the Bulldogs overpowered Messiah, not dropping a set on any of those respective courts. Sell lost 1-6, 0-6 on two, Gingerich lost 1-6, 5-7 on three, Anderson lost 1-6, 4-6 on five and Baker lost 4-6, 3-6 on six to end the day.
DeSales took the match 6-3.
