GRANTHAM, PA. – The Messiah men's lacrosse team fell 9-14 this evening against the Stevenson Mustangs in a conference matchup.
Aaron Shaw led the Falcons in goals with three while
Bobby Berg and
Jonah Libby added two.
The Falcons will travel to Chester to take on the Widener Pride on Saturday, April 22 for a matchup starting at 8:00 PM.
On the Turf
The Falcons opened up the scoring with an early goal from
Zach Drake to pick up a 1-0 lead. After five straight goals from Stevenson, Messiah answered with a
Jonah Libby goal to cut the deficit to three.
The Mustangs stretched the lead to five at 7-2 before the Falcons answered with a
Ben Ferrell goal. Stevenson would hold a 10-3 lead before
Jonah Libby tacked on another goal to make the game 10-4 still favoring Stevenson heading into the break.
Aaron Shaw found the back of the cage in the third to make it a five-goal game but the Mustangs would make it a six goal lead after adding another goal midway through the third. Heading into the final quarter of play, the Falcons trailed 11-6.
After an early Stevenson goal, Messiah rattled off three goals, two courtesy of
Bobby Berg to cut the deficit to three at 12-9 with 6:09 to play. It would be the final goal for the Falcons on the night as Stevenson punched two more goals in to make the final score 14-9.

Aaron Shaw led the Falcons in goals with three while
Bobby Berg and
Jonah Libby each scored twice.
Ben Ferrell and
Zach Drake scored once in the matchup. Ferrell also tacked on two assists.
In the totals, the Mustangs out shot the Falcons 51-32 and won 17 face-offs to Messiah's nine. In the cage, the Falcons made 19 saves, all courtesy of
