GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Messiah Track and Field team was able to complete 11 of the 19 scheduled events at the Mason Dixon Invitational Saturday afternoon before the meet was called off following a weather delay. Messiah earned 78 points through 11 events to claim the team victory.

A handful of Falcons will travel to Philadelphia on Thursday, April 27th, and Friday, April 28th for the Penn Relays. Messiah will travel as a team to Shippensburg on Saturday, April 29th for the Paul Kaiser Invitational.
On The Track
Jonathan Wyrick was the lone Falcon to find a victory on the track Saturday. His time of 10:35.10 bested all competitors. Joining him in the top five was
Ray Truex, crossing the line in a time of 11:18.12 to earn fifth.
The Falcons were all over the top ten of the 1500 Meter, claiming five of the top ten spots, and three of the top five.
Andrew Hutchinson led the way, claiming second in a time of 4:05.18. He was followed closely by
Louka Fetter (4:08.14) and
John Condon (4:11.12) who took third and fourth respectively. Rounding out Messiah's top ten finishers were
Josh Bauman (sixth, 4:12.82) and
Nathaniel Coggins (ninth, 4:21.53).
Messiah also claimed second through fourth in the 5000 Meter Run. Leading the trio of Falcons was
Zeke Colyer who crossed the line in 16:40.66 to earn second.
Tyler Billet (17:00.63) and
Lance Kauffman (17:15.32) earned third and fourth respectively.
In the 100 Meter Dash,
Joshua Horst crossed the line in a time of 11.83 to earn fourth.Â
John Steele and
Josiah Provan added top-ten finishes in the 110 Meter Hurdles to contribute to the Messiah victory. Steele crossed the line in a time of 16.56 to earn second while Provan ran a time of 18.38 to claim sixth.
The team of
Derek Heisey,
Joshua Horst,
Aedan Wilkinson, and
Josiah Zehr combined for a time of 45.33 in the 4x100 Meter Relay to earn sixth.
In The Field
Josiah Zehr claimed the victory in the Pole Vault, clearing a height of 4.30 meters.Â
John Steele and
Derek Heisey claimed second and third respectively in the Triple Jump. Steele reached a mark of 12.72 meters while Heisey jumped 12.27 meters in his debut for the event, qualifying for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship Meet.
In the Long Jump,
Josiah Provan took ninth with a mark of 5.00 meters.
In the Hammer Throw,
Hoyt Lechthaler took fourth with a four-meter personal best mark of 42.72 meters. That throw moves him into sixth place on the Messiah Top Ten list.
