AUSTIN, Texas – This week, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the Academic All-America At-Large Teams for the 2022-23 academic year with the unfurling of the women's and men's teams on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Among the student-athletes honored were Messiah's
Mason Nissley and
Hope Flack. For the third-straight season, Nissley garnered First Team Academic All-American honors while Flack claimed the second Academic All-American honors of her career with a Second Team accolade this season.

With two more honors this week, Messiah bumps their 2022-23 total to seven Academic All-American honors. In department history, Messiah has now collected 72 total honors.

Mason Nissley collected his third-straight First Team Academic All-American honor. He claimed the At-Large All-American of the Year honor in 2021 before claiming First Team accolades in 2022 and 2023. Nissley finished his career in Grantham as the most decorated player in program history as a three-time First Team All-American and 2021 National Player of the Year. He was a three-time First Team All-Conference honoree while being named the MAC Player of the Year twice in 2021 and 2023. Nissley graduated this past spring with a degree in finance with a 3.98 cumulative GPA.

Hope Flack claimed her second Academic All-American honor this season with a Second Team accolade on Wednesday. Flack previously earned a Third Team Academic All-American honor following the 2021 season. This season, Flack came back from an injury during the 2022 season and came on strong late in the year. She scored 26 goals on the year with 25 tallies coming in the final 13 games of the season. Flack earned a Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth honor for her solid season while also earning a nod to compete in the IWLCA Senior All-Star game after the season concluded. A graduate student, Flack holds a 4.00 cumulative GPA, seeking a degree in Higher Education. She carried a 3.97 cumulative GPA in her undergraduate studies as an Education major, graduating last spring.
