Adams Career Night helps Women’s Basketball Pounce Lions

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The Messiah University women's basketball dominated the Lions of Penn St. Harrisburg. The Falcons were led by a dominant performance from Morgan Adams, who finished with a career-high 34 points.
 
Up next, the Falcons travel to Reading, Pa. to take on the Golden Wolves of Alvernia University on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7:00 p.m.
 
First Quarter
The two teams opened the first quarter with matching buckets to open the first four minutes tied 7-7. Chloe Milanesi started strong with five points for the Falcons. The back-and-forth play continued throughout the quarter, but a 7-2 run by the Falcons to end the quarter gave Messiah a 18-17 lead. Reese Harden started the run with a basket and a foul shot, and Morgan Adams ended the run with a layup.
 
Second Quarter
The Falcons opened the quarter with an 8-0 run in the first two minutes, capped off by a three from Reese Harden to extend the Falcons lead to 26-17. The Lions responded with a 5-2 run that lasted until four minutes remaining in the half to reduce the Falcons lead to five. After some back-and-forth play, the Falcons finished the half on a 5-0 run that was led by five points from Morgan Adams to give the Falcons a 35-27 lead at the half.
 
Third Quarter
The Falcons opened the second half on a 7-2 run to start the quarter with a Reese Harden three to start the run and a Chloe Milanesi jumper extended the Falcons lead 44-29. After some back-and-forth play the Falcons ended the quarter with a 12-2 run that started with a Charlotte Milanesi layup and ended with two free throws from Reese Harden to give the Falcons a 62-44 lead entering the final quarter.
 
Fourth Quarter
The Falcons were outscored 21-18 in the fourth quarter, but the Falcons already had a sizable lead to finish off an 80-65 win.
 
Stats
Morgan Adams led the falcons with a career-high 34 points and added 10 rebounds. Chloe Milanesi added 20 points and eight rebounds. Reese Harden scored 18 points and seven assists. The Falcons shot 48.2 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from three. The Lions shot 42.3 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from three.
