GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Friday evening, the Messiah University women's basketball team used a strong second half to defeat the Shorewomen of Washington College (Md.), 52-38. The Falcons jumped to a 17-10 lead after a strong first quarter. Both team scored nine points in the second quarter to give the Falcons a 26-19 lead headed into the half. In the third after an early layup from the Shorewomen cut the Falcons lead to five, the Falcons went on a 14-6 run to end the third with a 40-27 lead. The Falcons outscored the Shorewomen by one in the fourth to defeat Washington College (Md.), 52-38.
Reese Harden led the Falcons with 14 points and five rebounds.
Liv Monturo tallied her second straight double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Chloe Milanesi also added 11 points with seven rebounds and four steals.

First Quarter
The Falcons opened the game strong with a 7-0 run in the first two minutes. The run started with a
Charlotte Milanesi three and ended with a layup from
Reese Harden. The Shorewomen answered back with a quick 6-0 run to reduce the Falcons lead to one. The Falcons ended the quarter with a 10-4 run that was highlighted by five straight points from
Liv Monturo to end the quarter with the Falcons up 17-10.
Second Quarter
The Shorewomen opened the second quarter strong with a 7-2 run to reduce the Falcons lead to 19-17 with six minutes remaining in the quarter. Both defenses shined in the remaining six minutes, but the Falcons responded to the Shorewomen run with a 7-2 run of their own. The run started with a
Liv Monturo jumper and ended with a
Chloe Milanesi three to give the Falcons a 26-19 lead at the half.
Third Quarter
The two teams traded baskets for the first six and a half minutes of the third quarter with
Reese Harden leading the Falcons with six points. The Falcons though finished the third quarter strong with a 8-0 run to end the quarter.
Charlotte Milanesi started the run with a jumper and then
Chloe Milanesi hit two straight threes to give the Falcons a 40-27 lead entering the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
The Shorewomen looked to make a comeback with a 4-2 stretch to open the fourth quarter.
Justine Forbes took any momentum the Shorewomen gained with a three to push the Falcons lead back to 12 with five minutes remaining in the fourth. The Falcons finished the game outscoring the Shorewomen 7-6 to end the game, highlighted by an elbow jumper by
Ainsley Bell to give the Falcons the 52-38 win.
