The Falcons opened the game strong with a great look in front of the goal, but Brittany Laird sent the shot high, and the game remained tied. In the 11th minute, the Spartans got the first shot on goal from about 25-yards out, but Ava Wert made the save to keep the game tied. The Falcons got a great opportunity to break the scoreless tie in the 34th minute. Bella Touzeau sent a long ball from just past the midfield line all the way to the right corner of the box to Mia Libby. Libby made a move past a defender and then sent a sharp angle shot towards the bottom-left corner, but the Spartans' goalkeeper made an incredible kick save to keep the game scoreless going into the half.

Second Half
After some back-and-forth play to open the half, the Spartans earned a great chance with a corner kick in the 60th minute. The Spartans sent the ball into the box and the Spartans got two great shots off, but each shot was saved by Falcons' defenders on the goal line to keep the game tied at 0. After the corner kick, the Falcons woke up and got the offense going again, Thea Neimond and Kristina Akselsen each sent shots on goal, but the Spartans' goalkeeper made the saves. The Falcons earned a corner kick of their own in the 82nd minute. Akselsen sent the cross into the middle of the box. Julia Martin skied up and got a head on the ball and it looked like the Falcons would take a one-goal lead, but the Spartans' goalkeeper made an incredible leaping save to keep the game tied. The Falcons though kept the pressure on the Spartans and looked for one last chance to break the tie in the 89th minute. After a turnover from the Spartans defense Addi Martin got the ball and quickly passed it to Hannah Adair just outside of the left side of the box. Adair made a couple of dribbles, then split two Spartan defenders, and ripped a shot into the bottom-right corner to give the Falcons the 1-0 win.
