GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Saturday afternoon, the fifth-ranked Messiah University women's soccer team used four goals in the first half to defeat the Spartans of York College for their sixth-straight and 21st Conference Championship in program history. The Falcons opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a goal from
Bella Touzeau. The Falcons added another this time from
Brittany Laird in the 29th minute to push the Falcons lead to two.
Hannah Adair capped off the scoring in the first half with two straight goals to give the Falcons a 4-0 lead headed into the half. The Falcons defense shut down the Spartan offense for the rest of the game and the Falcons won the MAC Commonwealth Championship, 4-0.
Bella Touzeau was named MAC Commonwealth Tournament MVP.

First Half
The Falcons opened the game strong, looking to create an early goal.
Addi Martin got the ball about 25 yards from goal and sent a pass just outside of the box to
Bella Touzeau. Touzeau took a couple of touches and then drilled a shot into the top-left corner of the goal to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Falcons kept the pressure on the York defense with shots on goal from
Addi Martin and
Brittany Laird, but each shot was saved by the York goalkeeper to keep the York deficit to one. The Falcons though looked to add another goal in the 29th minute. After a couple of
Julia Martin shots were blocked by York defenders, Martin passed it quickly to
Brittany Laird. Laird then redirected the pass near the left side of the goal into the bottom-right corner to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. The Falcons ended the half with two goals from
Hannah Adair to give the Falcons a 4-0 lead headed into the break.
Second Half
The Falcons dominated possession in the second half but could not add another goal. The Falcons defense stifled the York offense allowing only one shot on goal in the second half with
Ava Wert making the save to keep the score at 4-0.
