GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah men's volleyball team picked up another conference victory against the Hood College Blazers. The Falcons swept the Blazers 3-0 (25-7, 25-16, 25-17) in the home win.
Alex Kagoro,
Sean Gillespie, and
Ethan Earhart all finished the game with six kills.
Jonathan Nixon tallied 18 assists with seven digs, and
Lucas Plumey tied him with seven digs in the win.
Messiah will be on the road against Stevenson University March 6
th.
How it Happened
Set One
From the opening serve the Falcons were in complete control of the entire set. Messiah quickly rattled off 10 points including five straight points to take a 10-2 lead. The Falcons would continue to pour it on going on an 8-2 run, stretching their lead to 18-4.

Ethan Earhart, and Givens all contributed throughout the set. Messiah would hold the Blazers to seven points the entire set, winning set one 25-7.
Set Two
Set Two was slightly more contested throughout the match. Both teams traded points through the opening stretch with the game tied 10-10 early on. However, the Falcons would go on an 8-3 run extending their lead to 18-13. From that point on it was all Messiah, as the Falcons defense stiffened up, holding the Blazers to three more points to win the set 25-16.
Set Three
The Falcons got it going from the first serve and never looked back.
Ethan Earhart,
Brayden Parks, and Gillespie all contributed to the 10-3 lead. The Blazers would manage to claw back into the set cutting the deficit to 15-8 heading into the midway point. Despite surrendering a couple runs from the Blazers, the Falcons never wavered securing the 25-17 win at home.
