GRANTHAM, Pa. - The second-seeded Messiah women's tennis team will open the MAC Commonwealth Tournament on Tuesday, April 30 when third-seeded York Spartans come to Grantham. The matchup will Cristie Courts at 3:30 p.m, with a trip to the Conference Championship Match is on the line.
Top-seeded Albright will host the Alvernia Golden Wolves in the other semifinal match on Tuesday afternoon, with the winner's meeting in the MAC Commonwealth Championship on Saturday, hosted by the highest seed.
The Falcons are making their 20th appearance in the conference tournament in program history. Messiah will be looking for its fourth Conference Championship in program history, with the last Conference Championship in 2019. The Falcons are 7-3 at home in the conference tournament in program history.

No. 2 Messiah Falcons
The Messiah women's tennis team ended their season 7-8 overall and 5-1 in MAC Commonwealth play. The regular season ended on a five-match win streak with all five wins coming against MAC Commonwealth opponents. The Falcons are 3-3 on Criste Courts this season. The lone loss in the conference for the Falcons comes from top-seeded Albright where they dropped a tight 5-4 match.

No. 3 York Spartans
The York Spartans finished their season above .500 in the MAC Commonwealth to earn the third seed in the tournament. The Spartans have had a tough year but have remained competitive in almost every game. The two losses in the conference for the Spartans come from Albright and Messiah who are the top two seeds in the tournament. Both matches against the two top seeds remained competitive throughout.
This Season Against Messiah
The Spartans and the Falcons met on Apr. 20 when Messiah took home the 6-3 win. The Falcons used a strong outing in singles play to secure a big conference victory over the Spartans.
No. 1 Albright Lions
The Lions have had a successful season this far going undefeated in the conference for the first time in program history. Albright is currently on a nine-game win streak with their only two losses coming from Misericordia and Lebanon Valley. The Lions will look for their first Conference Championship crown in program history.
This Season Against Messiah
The Falcons took on Albright at home on Apr. 6. A close contest resulted in a 5-4 victory for the Lions. The match was the closest contest for the Lions in MAC Commonwealth play.
No. 4 Alvernia Golden Wolves
Alvernia comes into the tournament finishing 3-3 in the MAC Commonwealth. The Golden Wolves found success against three conference foes in Hood, Eastern, and Stevenson. Alvernia has remained unwavering this season and will look for its second Conference Championship for the first time since 2015 when they beat Lebanon Valley College 5-1 in the match.
This Season Against Messiah
Messiah traveled to Alvernia on Apr. 28 when the Falcons secured a tight battle, earning a 5-4 victory. The last regular season game for the two teams was a back-and-forth contest. When it came down to it,
Bella Heckman would prevail with a 6-4 win giving the Falcons their seventh win of the season.
