ANNVILLE, Pa. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Middle Atlantic Conference released the weekly awards for the week of Jan. 12. After a successful start to his junior campaign, Alex Kagoro was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for Men's Volleyball following his performance at the Messiah Invitational on Friday, Jan. 17, and Saturday, Jan. 18.
Kagoro started his junior campaign with an impressive 75 kills across three matches to help the Falcons begin the season 3-0. On Friday, Jan. 17, Kagoro hit .375 with 30 kills in five sets while also adding a service ace in the Falcons' season opener against Mount Union. In Messiah's first match of day two at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 18, Kagoro collected 27 kills, hitting .315 against Baldwin Wallace with one service ace across four sets. In a sweep against Nazareth in the final match of the day, Kagoro collected 18 kills, hitting .406. Kagoro hit .359 on the weekend with 75 kills, averaging 6.25 kills per set.
