OWINGS MILLS, Md. – On Saturday afternoon, the fifth-ranked Messiah University women's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 win over the Mustangs of Stevenson University. The Falcons got on the board early with a goal by
Tahlia Lloyd from
Hannah Adair to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Falcons did not add another goal in the first half but controlled most of the possession. The Falcons added to their lead in the 50th minute with a goal from
Hannah Adair.
Brittany Laird scored a goal in the 73rd minute to give the Falcons the 3-0 win.

First Half
The Falcons got an early chance with a corner kick in the 12th minute.
Hannah Adair sent the ball to the back post and
Tahlia Lloyd volleyed the ball into the back of the goal to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Falcons continued to push the pace in the attacking third with a flurry of shots on goal in the next nine minutes.

Brittany Laird added a shot on goal, but each shot was saved to keep the score at 1-0 heading into the 20th minute. The Falcons next best chances came in the 31st minute with a pair of shots from Laird and Lloyd, but each shot was saved, and the Falcons lead remained at one. Kenzie Derstine, and
Hannah Lashley each getting a shot on goal, but each shot was saved to keep the game at 1-0 headed into the half.
Second Half
The Falcons continued to put the pressure on the Mustangs' defense to start the second half.
Ella Lent-Koop sent a long pass towards the top of the box to
Hannah Adair. Adair made a move past a Mustangs' defender and ripped a shot into the top-left corner to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. The Falcons kept the pressure on Stevenson and looked to add to their lead in the 73rd minute. After the Mustangs could not clear the ball from the Falcons attacking third,
Bailie Dull sent a ball into the box to
Addi Martin. Martin then passed the ball to the top of the box to
Brittany Laird. Laird then ripped a one-timer into the back of the goal to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead. The Falcons added two shots on goal from
Nikki Davis and
Lydia Ring, and a shot on goal from
Tessa Groff, but each shot was saved, and the Falcons earned the 3-0 win.
