SALTSBURG, Pa. – On Wednesday afternoon, the Messiah University men's lacrosse team defeated the Fighting Scots of the College of Wooster, 19-11 in a neutral site game. The Falcons pulled ahead in the first quarter outscoring the Fighting Scots, 5-3. The Falcons continued their first half success outscoring the Fighting Scots by five in the second to take a 12-5 lead into the break. The Falcons outscored the Fighting Scots by one in the third to take a 17-9 lead heading into the final quarter. In the fourth, both team's defenses stepped up and each team scored two goals to put the final score at 19-11.
Stats
Bobby Berg led the Falcons tying his career-high with 10 points on five goals and five assists.
Chad Teresky and
Ben Ferrell each added five points. Teresky tallied two goals, and three assists and
Ben Ferrell scored five goals.
Mike McKnelly tallied four points on a hat trick and an assist.
Jesse Lynch and
Owen Hammel each totaled three points, with Hammel scoring three goals and Lynch dishing out three assists.
Adam Collison and
Walker Penchansky each led the Falcons with two caused turnovers.
Ben Antel won 12 face offs and scooped up five ground balls.
Jourdain Algarin earned the win in the cage for the Falcons and tallied 19 saves.
