Three Falcons Earn AVCA All-American Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. – On Monday afternoon, the American Volleyball Coaches Association released the 2025 AVCA Division III All-American Awards. Messiah earned three honors with Alex Kagoro being named First-Team and Brandon Sharp and Conner Stauffer being named to the Second-Team.

Junior Alex Kagoro leads the Falcons with a First-Team honor, his first All-American honor at outside hitter after a successful season for the Falcons. Kagoro was second in the conference with 378 kills and tied for first with a 4.20 kills per set average. In the season opener against Mount Union, Kagoro had a season high 30 kills and 12 digs. Kagoro finished the season with 408 kills with a 4.16 k/s average and a 0.278 hitting percentage. He added 35 assists and 30 service aces on offense. On defense, he collected 168 digs and 24 blocks for Messiah. Kagoro was seventh in the nation in kills and 11th in kills per set.

Conner Stauffer earns his first All-American honor after moving from outside hitter to libero for his senior season. The move proved to be effective as the senior led the conference with a 2.39 digs per set average and was second with 229 digs. Stauffer had a career high 18 digs against Stevens during the regular season. On offense, Stauffer contributed eight kills and 29 assists. Stauffer was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year. Stauffer ends the year with 242 digs and 2.33 digs per set.

Setter Brandon Sharp earns his first All-American honor after a successful sophomore campaign. Sharp led the conference with a 10.07 assists per set average and was second overall with 926 total assists. He dished out a career high 56 assists against Mount Union in the season opener while also adding a season high six blocks that match. Sharp was second on the team with 183 digs and third on the team with 54 blocks while also adding 59 kills from the setter position. Sharp ended the season ranked seventh nationally with 10.01 assists per set and was fifth in the nation with 1001 total assists.
