GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah men's tennis team is set to host the MAC Commonwealth tournament after finishing a perfect 6-0 in Commonwealth play. The Falcons finished 9-7 overall but knocked off every conference opponent this season to claim the No. 1 seed in this year's field.
The Falcons will host the No. 4 seed Stevenson University Mustangs on Tuesday, April. 29
th at 3:30pm in the MAC Commonwealth Semifinal match. The Falcons defeated Stevenson 7-0 earlier in the year winning every court in impressive fashion. The other MAC Commonwealth semifinal match will be hosted by No. 2 seed York College of Pennsylvania as they take on the No. 3 seed Albright Lions.
No. 1 Messiah University Falcons
9-7 Overall Record, 6-0 MAC Commonwealth
Season Recap
The top-seeded Falcons finished the regular season 9-7 overall and a 6-0 record in MAC Commonwealth play. The Falcons had a slow start going 1-4 through their first five games, but Messiah turned it around in the spring season. The Falcons went 4-1 over a five-game stretch, then wrapped up the season 4-2 to head into the MAC Commonwealth tournament.

Chase Wilson /
Lance Wilson will head up the double's ones with an overall record of 10-5.
Brady Hahn /
Timothy Sheaffer finished 4-0 in conference doubles play.
In singles both
Chase Wilson and
Lance Wilson have been perfect all season with an 6-0 record in conference.
Luke Risser and
Elijah Noll also finished undefeated in conference.
Luke Risser finished 5-0 and
Elijah Noll finished 4-0.
No. 2 York College Spartans
13-2 Overall Record, 5-1 MAC Commonwealth
Season Recap:
The Spartans will enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed after finishing 5-1 in conference and 13-2 overall. Despite a season opening loss, the Spartans rattled off six straight wins before losing to the Falcons 5-2 on March 29
th. The Spartans then finished the season with seven straight wins.
Players To Watch:
Parker Sanders / Evan Stehman will head up the one's for the Spartans with a 4-3 record overall.
The Spartans threes duo Hayden Musser / Drew Heinzelman are undefeated on the season.
In singles, Heinzelman is 9-1 on the year, while Ben Dorsey is not far behind with a 9-4 record predominately on court two.
No. 3 Albright College Lions
8-8 Overall Record, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth
Season Recap:
The Lions enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will travel to York, Pa for the MAC Commonwealth Semifinal match. The Lions finished 500 on the year and 4-2 in conference play with their only two losses coming from Messiah and York. The Lions entered conference play with a 4-6 record, then turned it around winning four of the final six matches.
Players To Watch:
The Lions one's duo Gerado Sanchez / Dylan Huha finished 6-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play. On court two, primarily Kobe Serpa / Adam Good finished 4-3 on the season and 1-2 within conference. On singles courts, Dylan Huha is an impressive 12-3 overall, finishing 5-0 in conference. Adam Good finished 9-6 on the season, and 4-1 in conference play. Clay Lewandowski will play on court five and holds a 7-5 overall record.
No. 4 Stevenson Mustangs
7-10 Overall Record, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth
Season Recap:
The Mustangs finished 7-10 overall, 1-4 on non-conference game and 3-3 within the MAC Commonwealth. The Mustangs suffered losses to Messiah, York, and Albright the three teams that stand above them in the tournament.
Players To Watch:
On court one of doubles play, Simeon Smith / Luke Appleman man up the honors and hold a 7-9 record, 4-2 in conference. On court two, Garret Warren / Dominic Duncan will hold down the number two court with a 3-5 overall record, 2-3 in conference.
In singles play, Luke Appleman holds an overall record of 8-9 and finished 4-2 versus conference opponents. On court two, Simeon Smith has a 6-10 overall record with three of those wins in conference play. Lastly Dominic Duncan will split between courts three and four with a 2-2 record on court three and a 3-5 record on court four.
