ASHLAND, Va. – The Messiah University baseball team heads to Ashland, Va. for the 2025 NCAA Tournament Regionals. The Falcons are in a four-team pod with Randolph-Macon, SUNY Brockport, and Methodist.
The Falcons will take on the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon in the opening game at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16. SUNY Brockport and Methodist will face off in the game before beginning at 10:00 a.m. The losers of each game on Friday will play in an elimination game at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The winners will play at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday to determine who will make it to Sunday and which team will play in the second elimination game of the day at 3:30 p.m.

The Falcons earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the MAC Commonwealth Championship Series over York on Sunday. The Falcons have a 31-14 overall record with a 18-3 record in MAC Commonwealth play this season. The Falcons were dominant at home but finished the season with a 12-10 record on the road.
The Falcons offense this season ranks as one of the best in the country this season. The Falcons enter tournament play ranked in the top 20 nationally in doubles (99), home runs (50), and triples (20). The Falcons also used their speed on the base paths entering regionals with 145 stolen bases, which ranks fourth in the country. The Falcons pitching staff ranks 44th in the country with a 4.38 ERA. The Falcons also rank 13th with 8.06 hits per nine allowed and 27th with 8.9 strikeouts per nine.

The Yellow Jackets are hosting their first regional in program history after a 30-15 overall record and a 15-7 record in ODAC play. The Yellow Jackets earned their ninth appearance in program history to the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid after falling to No. 5 Lynchburg in the ODAC Championship game. The Yellow Jackets finished the season with a 16-7 record at home this season.
The Randolph-Macon offense is one of the top 25 offenses in the country, even without relying on the long ball. The Yellow Jackets enter the tournament with a .318 team batting average and 489 hits, which ranks 21st in the country. The Yellow Jackets also rank in division III, fifth in doubles (107), second in sacrifice flies (41), 10th in walks (245), and 19th in sacrifice bunts (36). The SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles are making their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance after a program record 36 wins in 2025. The Golden Eagles earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Empire 8 Conference Championship. Even with being the top-seed in the regional, the Golden Eagles are on the road, in which they enter the tournament with a 22-2-2 record in neutral and away games.
The Golden Eagles enter the tournament with the top pitching staff in the country with a 2.67 ERA and eight shutouts. The Golden Eagles pitching staff also ranks top 10 in the country in WHIP (1.11), strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.10), and strikeouts per nine (10). The Golden Eagles offense also is one of the strongest in the country with a .339 team batting average, which ranks 15th in Division III. The Monarchs enter the tournament with a 32-13 overall record, with a 16-5 record in conference play. The Monarchs enter the weekend with a 9-5 record in road and neutral games this season.
The Monarchs offense comes into the tournament with a solid offense, without having much power. The Monarchs rank 15th in the country with 499 hits, and 34th with a .324 team batting average.
