SALISBURY, Md. – This weekend the Messiah University Baseball team heads to Salisbury, Md. for their first NCAA Tournament Super Regional appearance in program history. The Falcons will play a best-of-three series against the eighth-ranked Sea Gulls of Salisbury University starting on Friday, May 23 at 12:00 p.m.
Game One: Salisbury vs. Messiah: 12:00 p.m.
Game Two: Messiah vs. Salisbury: 11:00 a.m.
Game Three (If Necessary): Salisbury vs. Messiah: 45 minutes after game two

The Falcons earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the MAC Commonwealth Championship Series over York on Sunday. The Falcons have a 34-14 overall record with a 18-3 record in MAC Commonwealth play this season entering the Super Regionals. The Falcons were dominant at home but finished the season with a 15-10 record on the road.
The Falcons earned their first trip to the Super Regionals in program history after winning the minimum three-games. The Falcons opened the regional with a dominate 15-0 win over the host Randolph-Macon to head into the winner's bracket. The Falcons then advanced to the Championship game of the regional with a comeback 6-3 win over Methodist University. After Methodist advanced in the losers' bracket, the two teams faced off in the Championship game. After Methodist scored the first two runs of the game, the Falcons scored nine unanswered runs in the final eight innings to earn the 9-2 win.
The Falcons offense this season ranked as one of the best in the country this season entering the tournament. The Falcons were ranked top 20 nationally in doubles (99), home runs (50), and triples (20). The Falcons also used their speed on the base paths entering regionals with 145 stolen bases, which ranks fourth in the country. The Falcons pitching staff ranked 44th in the country with a 4.38 ERA. The Falcons also were ranked 13th with 8.06 hits per nine allowed and 27th with 8.9 strikeouts per nine.

No. 8 Salisbury University Sea Gulls
The eighth-ranked Salisbury University Sea Gulls earned a bid to their 30th NCAA Tournament appearance and 25th straight in program history after a 34-8 overall record and a 3-1 record in Coat-to-Coast play. The Sea Gulls earned their fourth C2C title in the last five seasons with a 15-3 win over Christopher Newport. The Sea Gulls have been strong at home all season, entering the Super Regionals with a 21-4 record.
The Sea Gulls, like Messiah, played the minimum games in the NCAA Tournament Regionals this past weekend. Salisbury entered the winner's bracket with a 12-2 win over Johnson and Wales. The Sea Gulls then entered the Championship game with a 15-5 win over Baldwin Wallace. After Baldwin Wallace made it out of the losers' bracket, the Sea Gulls defeated the Yellow Jackets 12-1 to advance to the NCAA Super Regionals.
