Men’s Soccer Drops Road Matchup at No. 11 Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – On Wednesday evening, the Messiah University men's soccer team fell to No. 11 Dickinson College, 3-0. Both teams did not get on the board in the first half, as both defenses allowed only one shot on goal combined in the first 45 minutes. The Red Devils offense opened the second half strong with three quick goals in the first nine minutes to take a 3-0 lead. The Falcons could not find the back of the net and Dickinson earned the 3-0 win.
 
Up next, the Falcons travel to Salisbury, Md. to take on the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 4:00 p.m.

First Half
The Red Devils got out to a strong start with a scoring opportunity in the 13th minute, but Kessler Forrest made an early save to keep the game scoreless. Neither team got a shot on goal for the rest of the first half as both defenses settled into the game to keep the game scoreless at the half.
 
Second Half
The Red Devils started the second half with a goal in the first two minutes to take a 1-0 lead. A little over five minutes later, the Red Devils added another goal to make it 2-0. The Red Devils added another goal just a minute and half later to extend their lead to three. The Falcons got a chance to get on the board in the 86th minute, but Isaac Schmitke's shot was saved by a Dickinson defender and the Red Devils earned the 3-0 win.
 
Stats
The Falcons totaled eight shots with one shot on goal. Dickinson totaled 15 shots with four shots on goal. The Falcons totaled six corner kicks to Dickinson's three. Kessler Forrest earned the start in goal for the Falcons and made a save.
