WESTMINSTER, Md. – On Wednesday afternoon, the second-ranked Messiah University women's soccer team defeated the Green Terror of McDaniel College, 1-0. The Falcons got an early goal from

Hannah Adair to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Falcons controlled possession for the rest of the half but could not add another goal and the score remained, 1-0 at the half. The Falcons in the second half did not record any shots on goal, but the possession allowed the Green Terror to get only one shot on goal, and the Falcons earned the 1-0 win.

First Half
The Falcons opened the game with a great scoring opportunity in the 11th minute.
Brittany Laird got a shot on goal towards the lower left corner, but the Green Terror's goalkeeper made the save and kept the game scoreless. The Falcons though looked to break the scoreless tie in the 17th minute.
Tahlia Lloyd forced a turnover in the Green Terror's defensive zone. Lloyd then found
Hannah Adair just outside the box. Adair then popped a pass into the box to
Brittany Laird, who poked the ball past the Green Terror's goalkeeper to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Falcons continued on the attack and in the 25th minute,
Mia Libby ripped a shot on goal, but the McDaniel goalkeeper made the save and held the Falcons lead to 1-0. The Falcons got another chance in the 38th minute on a Laird shot on goal, but the Green Terror's goalkeeper made another save to keep the score at 1-0 going into the break.
Second Half
The Falcons controlled the possession but could not find the back of the net in the second half. The defense continued to stifle the McDaniel offense, until the 82nd minute. The Grenn Terror got a shot on goal, but
Ava Wert made the save, and the Falcons earned the 1-0 win.
