READING, Pa. – On Wednesday evening, the Messiah University women's basketball team dropped a road conference game, to the Lions of Albright College. The Lions took an early lead with a 17-13 lead after the first quarter. The Falcons took a lead early in the second, but the Lions outscored the Falcons by five in the final six minutes of the second to take a 29-25 lead into the break. The Lions outscored the Falcons by three to take a 44-37 lead at the end of the third. The Lions outscored the Falcons by four in the fourth to earn the 58-47 win.
Liv Monturo led the Falcons with 15 points and six rebounds.
EmmyFaith Wood totaled 13 points and four rebounds.
Charlotte Milanesi added nine points, four assists, and two steals.
Up next, the Falcons travel to York, Pa. to take on the Spartans of York College on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1:00 p.m.
First Quarter
The Falcons opened the game strong with the first four points of the game from
EmmyFaith Wood to give the Falcons an early lead. After some back-and-forth play, the Lions went on a 9-0 run to take a 15-8 lead with 1:30 remaining in the first quarter. The Falcons outscored the Lions 5-2 in the final minute to reduce the Lions lead to 17-13 at the end of the first.

Second Quarter
The Falcons opened the second strong with an 8-2 run to give the Falcons a 20-19 lead with six minutes remaining in the second.
Liv Monturo led the Falcons with five points and
Charlotte Milanesi added a three during the run. The Lions then outscored the Falcons, 10-5 to close out the first half with a 29-25 lead.
EmmyFaith Wood drained a three and Milanesi added a basket for the Falcons during the final stretch of the first half.
Third Quarter
After
EmmyFaith Wood opened the third with a three, the Lions answered with a 8-3 run to take a 37-31 lead with 5:30 remaining in the third. The Lions then outscored the Falcons by one in the final four minutes to take a 44-37 lead headed into the final quarter.
Liv Monturo scored all six points for the Falcons in the final stretch of the third.
Fourth Quarter
The Falcons looked to reduce the Lions lead and started the fourth with an 8-4 run to reduce the Albright lead to three with 6:40 remaining in the fourth.
Charlotte Milanesi and
Liv Monturo each totaled four points for the Falcons during the run. The Lions finished the game with a 10-2 run to end any comeback chance for the Falcons and give Albright the 58-47 win.
