NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its conference weekly award recipients for the week ending January 25. 2026. A total of 18 student-athletes were recognized for performances from Jan. 19, 2026 to Jan. 25, 2026. Four Falcons earned honors this week with
Aidan Dunwoody and
Alex Kagoro sweeping the Men's Volleyball awards.
Drew Kozubal earned Wrestler of the Week and
Liv Monturo was named Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Aidan Dunwoody earned defensive player of the week honors after his defense helped lead the No.7 Falcons to a 3-0 weekend at the 2026 Cougar Kickoff Classic hosted by Misericordia. In Friday night's top 15 sweep against No. 11 Wentworth, Dunwoody tallied five digs. On Saturday, he added 12 against Thiel and Elmira as Messiah went 3-0 on the weekend.
Alex Kagoro was a powerhouse for the No. 7 Falcons this weekend, tallying 32 kills across eight sets played to earn offensive player of the week. Kagoro opened the 2026 Cougar Kickoff Classic Friday night with 12 kills while hitting .500 and three service aces in the Falcons' sweep over No. 11 Wentworth. In Saturday's four-set match against Thiel, he tallied 19 kills, hitting .455 and added one service ace. Kagoro was also named to the All-Tournament team and was named the 2026 Cougar Kickoff Classic Most Valuable Player.
Drew Kozubal finished as the 165 lbs. championship at the D. Kenneth Ober Invitational hosted by Elizabethtown College on Saturday, Jan. 24, earning him Men's Wrestler of the week honors. Kozubal earned a spot in the 174 lbs. championship bout after opening his day 4-0. Kozubal first earned a 16-0 technical fall in 4:20 over Jonny Beckett of Eastern after a takedown in the first was followed by 10 nearfall points and a takedown in the second. He then picked up an 8-2 decision over York's Mark Forry before securing his second 16-0 technical fall of the day. He defeated Christopher Piazza of Stevens Tech 16-0 in 1:28 behind a takedown and 13 nearfall points. Kozubal had an exciting final match with Gavin Fehr of Elizabethtown. Fehr took a 3-0 lead with a first-period takedown and extended it to 4-0 with a penalty point. Kozubal then earned two penalty points for stall calls against Fehr before earning a late two-count nearfall to secure the 4-3 decision and the first-place finish.
Liv Monturo filled the stat sheet in two victories for the Falcons, totaling 46 points, 24 rebounds, seven assists, six steals, and five blocks. She posted a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds in a rout of Eastern. She followed up with another double-double against Alvernia, tallying 19 points and 14 rebounds alongside four steals.
