Bobby Berg being named the MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week,
Katie Bukiewicz being named the MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week,
Alex Kagoro being named MAC Offensive Player of the Week, and
Noah Rice being named MAC Men's Wrestler of the Week.
Bobby Berg was named MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week for Men's Lacrosse, recording seven points on four goals and three assists in a season-opening win for the Falcons at Catholic, scoring six points in the second half to spark the comeback victory for Messiah.
Katie Bukiewicz earned MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week honors after leading the No. 24 Falcons defense in an 11-5 win over No. 25 Scranton on Saturday afternoon. Bukiewicz led all players with six ground balls and tallied three caused turnovers and two draw controls.
For the second time this season,
Alex Kagoro was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week for Men's Volleyball, leading the No. 10 Falcons offense in a 3-0 weekend at Baldwin Wallace, highlighted by a 3-1 win over No. 9 Baldwin Wallace on Friday night. Kagoro led the Falcons with 18 kills and added an assist and two service aces. On Saturday, Kagoro led all players with 14 kills in a 3-0 sweep over Hobart, tallying an assist and two service aces. In the Falcons final contest of the week against Benedictine, Kagoro led all players with 22 kills and tallying three service aces. Kagoro hit .304 on the weekend and added five blocks and 11 digs in his performance.
Noah Rice was named MAC Men's Wrestler of the Week after leading the Falcons in the final weekend of the regular season. Rice opened his weekend with a fall over Michael Beers in the Falcons 25-17 Friday night dual victory at Elizabethtown College. On Saturday, Rice finished atop the 157 lbs. podium at the Messiah Open. Rice earned a 19-3 technical fall in 5:38 over Gettysburg's Justin Musmanno with six takedowns and an escape. Following an 11-3 major decision over Carter Weaver of Pitt-Johnstown, Rice advanced to the championship bout following a medical forfeit. Rice faced top-seeded Jackson Albert of Patriot Elite Wrestling Club. Rice held a slim 1-0 advantage after two periods before a takedown in the third gave him the 4-2 victory to finish at the top of the bracket.
