ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The No. 8 Messiah Men's Volleyball team traveled to nearby Elizabethtown town for a Tuesday night battle of the birds. The Falcons and Blue Jays battled through the night with the Falcons earning the 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-22, 27-25, and 26-24.
Alex Kagoro led all players with 18 kills, the only to reach double digits. He added two service aces, three blocks, and a pair of digs.
Tyler Good and
Jake Eby added eight and seven digs respectively.
Brandon Sharp dished out 34 assists while
Aidan Dunwoody led all players with 11 digs.
Ethan Earhart tallied five blocks.
The Falcons return to Jordan Court in Hitchcock Arena on Friday, Feb. 20 when they host the Golden Flyers of Nazareth University.
First Set
A pair of errors opened action before
Ethan Earhart and
Alex Kagoro combined for a block. Elizabethtown took a 4-2 lead before
Brandon Sharp found
Alex Kagoro for a kill. The teams traded errors before a pair of kills from
Tyler Good brought the score to 7-6 in favor of the Blue Jays. A kill from
Tyler McConnell was followed by a service ace from
Jake Eby to notch the score 8-8. After a pair from the Blue Jays,
Brandon Sharp tallied a kill before McConnell connected with Kagoro to level the teams at 10-10. After a kill for Elizabethtown, McConnell tallied a kill, Earhart and Good combined for a block and McConnell added a service ace to give Messiah a 13-11 lead. The teams continued to trade points as

Alex Kagoro tallied kills, giving Messiah a 17-16 lead. Sharp found McConnell and Kagoro before an error from the Blue Jays gave Messiah a 20-18 lead. A pair of kills for Kagoro extended the Messiah lead to 22-19, causing an Elizabethtown timeout. Out of the timeout, the Blue Jays scored a pair before a service error gave the Falcons the 23-21 lead. A Blue Jays kill wasn't enough as

Tyler Good for a kill before Sharp used an overpass from the Blue Jays to notch a kill of his own and give Messiah the 25-23 set one win and 1-0 lead in the match.
Second Set
Elizabethtown started set two with a kill before an attack error from the Blue Jays and a block from
Ethan Earhart and
Tyler Good gave Messiah a 2-1 lead. A kill for
Jake Eby from
Brandon Sharp notched the score 4-4 before Elizabethtown took a 6-4 lead. A kill for Good and a pair of attack errors from the Blue Jays gave Messiah the 7-6 lead. The teams continued trading points before Elizabethtown took a 14-11 lead. Sharp connected with Good for a kill and an error from Elizabethtown cut the Messiah deficit to one at 14-13. The Blue Jays earned four of the next five points, taking an 18-14 lead and forcing a Messiah timeout. Following a pair of Elizabethtown blocks out of the timeout,
Tyler McConnell tallied back-to-back kills to bring the score to 20-16 in favor of the Blue Jays. Elizabethtown extended their lead to 23-17 before four straight points for the Falcons that included a kill for

Ethan Earhart for a kill before Elizabethtown took a 4-2 lead. The Blue Jays extended their lead to 6-3 before Sharp found
Alex Kagoro and Kagoro found
Tyler Good for a pair of kills to cut the deficit to one at 6-5. Messiah leveled the score at 7-7 with a kill for Kagoro and an error for the Blue Jays. The teams continued trading points with
Jake Eby and Kagoro each tallying a kill as Elizabethtown maintained an 11-10 lead. A kill for
Tyler Good fell in a string of Blue Jays' points as their lead extended to 15-12. Sharp found Kagoro for a kill before Kagoro notched a service ace to bring the score to 15-14 in favor of Elizabethtown. The Blue Jays then furthered their lead to 18-14, forcing a Messiah timeout. Out of the break,
