BALTIMORE, Md. – On Wednesday afternoon, the fifteenth-ranked Messiah University baseball team dropped a slugfest at the tenth-ranked Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins, 21-6. The Blue Jays opened the game with eight runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead. The Falcons responded back in the top of the third with three runs to reduce the Blue Jays lead to five. The Blue Jays then pushed their lead to 14 with a nine-run inning in the bottom of the third. The Blue Jays added four more runs and the Falcons scored three in the ninth to put the final score at 21-6.
Isaiah Parido led the Falcons with three hits, including a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
Drew Hurst totaled two hits, with a home run, and two RBIs.
Hudson Rue and
Carter Reid each added a hit and an RBI.

After the Blue Jays worked around a
Drew Hurst single in the first, the Blue Jays scored eight runs with two three-run home runs to take an early 8-0 lead.

After a scoreless second, the Falcons looked to get back into the game in the top of the third. With one out,
Isaiah Parido reached second on an error by the Blue Jays second basemen.
Carter Reid then singled to right center to score Parido to reduce the Blue Jays lead to seven. After Reid stole second,
Drew Hurst homered to right to put the Falcons within five headed into the bottom of the fifth.

The Blue Jays responded in the bottom of the third with nine runs on six hits and an error to give Johns Hopkins a 17-3 lead.

After a scoreless fourth, the Falcons looked to score in the top of the fifth.
Cristian Reyna and
Isaiah Parido both singled, but the Falcons could not bring either runner in and the score remained 17-3.

The Blue Jays then added a run in the bottom of the fifth and three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 21-3 headed into the seventh inning.

After a scoreless seventh and eighth inning, the Falcons added three runs in the top of the ninth to put the final score at 21-6.
Hudson Rue hit an RBI single, and
Isaiah Parido hit a two run home run to score the runs for the Falcons in the ninth.
