GRANTHAM, Pa. – The No. 5 Messiah Men's Volleyball team concluded MAC regular season play on Wednesday night with a 3-0 sweep over the Arcadia Knights with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, and 25-21. With the win, the Falcons secure the second seed in the conference tournament with a 7-1 conference record.
Alex Kagoro led the Falcons with 14 kills and added an assist and a service ace while contributing eight digs.
Todd Snyder collected 10 kills while hitting .600.
Aidan Dunwoody led the Falcons with nine digs.
Brandon Sharp dished out 38 assists and added three blocks with five digs.
Messiah Men's Volleyball returns to action on Saturday, April 4, for the final regular season game. The Falcons will take to Jordan Court in Hitchcock Arena at 1:00 p.m. against Marymount University.
First Set
After an opening kill for the Knights, Messiah notched three straight kills from
Alex Kagoro,
Tyler McConnell, and
Todd Snyder to take a 3-1 lead.
Brandon Sharp connected with Kagoro and Snyder twice before finding
Jake Eby to give the Falcons an 8-4 lead. After trading service errors,
Jake Eby and
Brandon Sharp combined for a block before an error from the Knights gave Messiah the 11-5 lead. Sharp connected with
Tyler Good for a kill before Good set Sharp for a kill to give Messiah a 13-7 lead.
Tyler McConnell and
Alex Kagoro each tallied kills and an attack error from Arcadia gave Messiah a 16-9 lead as Arcadia called a timeout. The Knights strung together a few points before Sharp connected with Kagoro and Kagoro set Sharp for a pair of kills to take a 20-13 lead. A kill for McConnell gave the Falcons a 21-14 lead, forcing the second Arcadia timeout. The teams traded points before

Todd Snyder for a kill to bring the score to 23-16. The teams traded errors as Messiah took set one 25-18.
Second Set
The Falcons opened set two with a pair of kills from
Todd Snyder and
Alex Kagoro to take a 2-0 lead. Snyder tallied a kill before a pair of service errors from the Knights gave the Falcons a 5-4 lead. A kill from
Jake Eby and a block from Eby and Sharp extended the lead to 7-5. After a kill from Eby the Knights took a 9-8 lead before the teams traded points. Kagoro and McConnell each tallied kills before a pair of attack errors from the Knights notched the score 12-12. Kagoro tallied a kill before Arcadia took a 15-13 lead. Messiah then scored five straight with kill from
Alex Kagoro and
Tyler McConnell and a solo block from
Brandon Sharp giving Messiah an 18-15 lead, forcing an Arcadia timeout. Out of the break,
Tyler Good tallied a service ace and
Alex Kagoro tallied a kill from Good for a 20-15 lead. McConnell and Snyder tallied kills before a pair of points for the Knights brought the score to 22-21 in favor of Messiah. The Falcons took a 23-21 lead with a kill for

Brandon Sharp was the only early point for the Falcons as Arcadia took a 5-1 lead to open set three.

Alex Kagoro for a pair and an error from the Knights brought the score to 6-5 in favor of Arcadia. After Arcadia took an 8-7 lead, Messiah claimed four straight with a service ace for Kagoro, a kill for
Tyler Good, and a pair of Knights' errors to take an 11-8 lead. Sharp connected with Kagoro, McConnell, and
Jake Eby while extending the score to 14-11. A pair of attack errors from the Knights extended the Messiah lead to 16-12 before a kill and service ace from
Tyler McConnell brought the score to 18-14 in favor of Messiah, forcing Arcadia to take a timeout. The teams traded points out of the break with
Todd Snyder and
Jake Eby each tallying a kill. A kill from Good and error from Arcadia brought the score to 22-18 before
Brandon Sharp connected with Eby for a kill and
Sean Gillespie tallied a service ace for a 24-19 lead. After a pair of points for Arcadia, an error by the Knights gave Messiah the 25-21 set three win and 3-0 sweep.
