EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – On Saturday afternoon, the Messiah University women's tennis team fell at the Warriors of East Stroudsburg University, 5-2. The Warriors started the match winning all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Warriors won the first four singles matches, but the Falcons won the last two, with
Liz Seymour and
Calla Stoltzfus winning their matches.
Up next, the Falcons host the Lions of Albright College on Wednesday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m.
Doubles
The Falcons lost the doubles point with the tandem of
Kiara Bomboy and
Taryn Zerby dropping court one and
Susan Arp and
Isabella Ipri falling in court two. The team of
Annie Forry and
Emmie Weber felt in a tight match on court three that ended in a tiebreak set.
Singles
The first two matches to conclude were on courts one and two with
Kiara Bomboy falling in court one and
Taryn Zerby dropping her match on court two. The Falcons cut the Warriors lead to one with
Liz Seymour winning on court six in straight sets (6-1, 6-4) and
Calla Stoltzfus winning on court five (6-1, 5-7, 10-8). The Warriors won the final two matches on courts three and four with
Susan Arp falling in three sets on court three (3-6, 6-4, 4-10) and
Kylie Walker dropping her match in three sets (1-6, 7-5, 9-11) to earn the 5-2 win.
