GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah Women's Lacrosse team secured the No. 1 seed in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 7-0 record in conference play. The Falcons will host the No. 4 seed Pride of Widener University on Wednesday, April 29, for one of two semifinal contests. The No. 2 Spartans of York College will host the No. 3 Stevenson University Mustangs in the other semifinal match. The winners of both contests will meet on Saturday for the MAC Commonwealth Championship, hosted by the highest remaining seed.
Messiah has appeared in 22 conference tournaments, making it to the championship game in 12. The Falcons hold a 21-14 overall record in the Conference Tournament, collecting eight conference championships.
Fans should note that since this is a Middle Atlantic Conference Postseason Tournament, tickets are required for all fans. The prices for tickets are as follows: Adults: $10, Senior Citizens (65+): $5, Children (7-17): $5, MAC Students (with Valid School ID) and Children 6 and Under: Free.

The Falcons opened the season 2-2, with 11-7 and 12-11 losses to top-five Gettysburg and Salisbury before a win at Washington College. After a pair of losses, Messiah three straight non-conference games before going a perfect 7-0 in conference play, including an 11-9 win over No. 7 York.

The Pride opened their season 6-4 in non-conference play, dropping their only contest against a ranked opponent when they faced Haverford in late February. They opened conference play 2-2 with losses to Stevenson and York before winning two straight. They closed the regular season with a 12-7 loss against Messiah.

The Spartans opened the season 4-0 before dropping an overtime contest to No. 12 Washington and Lee. They then went 2-2 in non-conference play before opening conference play with an 11-9 loss to Messiah. After a cross-conference win over No. 13 Stevens, York won six straight conference games, not allowing opponents into double digits to end the regular season.
