GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Messiah University baseball team dropped a non-conference game to the Lions of Penn St. Harrisburg, 9-1. After two scoreless innings, the Lions scored two runs in the top of the third to take a 2-0 lead. The lions added three more runs in the top of the fourth extend their lead to 5-0 through four innings. The Falcons scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, but the Lions added three in the seventh and one in the eighth to earn the 9-1 win.
David Martinez led the Falcons with a one and an RBI.

Carter Reid each added a hit.

The Lions continued the momentum at the plate with three runs in the top of the fourth to take a 5-0 lead through four innings of play.

David Martinez ripped an RBI double to left center to cut the Lions' lead to four through six innings.
The Lions answered back in the top of the seventh with three runs to extend their lead to 8-1 headed to the bottom of the seventh.
The Lions added another run in the top of the eighth and did not allow another run to the Falcons to earn the 9-1 win.
