2026 Men’s Lacrosse MAC Commonwealth Tournament Preview

GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah University men's lacrosse team earned the third seed in the 2026 MAC Commonwealth Tournament. The Falcons will travel to Owings Mills, Md. to take on the second-seeded Mustangs of Stevenson University in the MAC Commonwealth Semifinals on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m.
 
The top-seeded Spartans of York College will take on the fourth-seeded Eagles of Eastern University in the other semifinal matchup, with the winners of each game advancing to the championship game that will be hosted by the highest seed remaining.
 
Fans should note that since this is a Middle Atlantic Conference Postseason Tournament, tickets are required for all fans. The pricing for tickets are as follows: Adults: $10, Seniors (65+) and Youth (7-17):  $5, and MAC Students with their student ID and Children under six: Free.

No. 3 Messiah University Falcons
9-6 Overall Record, 5-2 MAC Commonwealth

The Falcons enter the MAC Commonwealth Tournament with a 9-6 overall record with a 5-2 record in MAC Commonwealth play. The Falcons opened the season with a 3-3 record before finishing the season with a 6-3 record in their final nine games. The Falcons only two loses this season in conference play have come against the top-seeded Spartans of York College and the second-seeded Mustangs of Stevenson University. The Falcons enter the tournament with a 3-6 record on the road this season.
 
The Falcons offense ranks fifth in the MAC Commonwealth with 164 goals scored. The Falcons defense ranks third in the conference with 147 goals allowed on the season. The Mustangs enter the MAC Commonwealth Tournament with a 7-9 overall record with a 6-1 record in MAC Commonwealth play. The Mustangs opened the season with a 1-7 record in their first eight games. The Mustangs went through a gauntlet of a non-conference schedule with six-straight teams ranked in the top 15. The Mustangs enter the tournament with their lone conference loss to York. The Mustangs are 4-4 on the season at home.

The Mustangs defeated the Falcons 18-4 on April 21. The Mustangs used a strong start and finish to defeat the Falcons, outscoring Messiah 10-0 during the first and fourth quarters.

The Spartans opened the season with a 3-1 record, with their loss coming against Salisbury. The Spartans enter the tournament with a 13-game winning streak. This Season Against Messiah
The Spartans defeated the Falcons 18-5 to open MAC Commonwealth play on April 1. The Spartans took a 9-2 lead into the half and scored the first five goals of the third to lead them to the win.

No. 4 Eastern University Eagles
5-12 Overall Record, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth

The Eagles enter the MAC Commonwealth Tournament with a 5-12 record with a 4-3 record in MAC Commonwealth play. The Eagles opened the season with a 1-9 record in non-conference play. Eagles broke an eight-game losing streak with a win over Widener in the Commonwealth opener. The Eagles then went 3-3 the rest of the way in conference play, including an 8-7 win over Hood in the season finale to earn the fourth seed in the conference tournament. The Eagles enter the tournament with a 4-6 record on the road this season.
 
The Eagles offense comes into the tournament third with 187 goals. The Eagles also rank third in the conference with 24.53 shots on goal per game. The Eagles defense allowed the second-most goals in the conference with 245. The Eastern defense though, ranks second in the conference with 173 caused turnovers. The Eagles rank fourth in the conference with a 50.2 faceoff win percentage.
