GRANTHAM, Pa. – The MAC Commonwealth Softball tournament is this week, with action beginning on Apr. 30 and concluding on May 2. The Messiah University Softball team earned the No. 1 seed, locking up hosting duties after a conference sweep over Alvernia University on Apr. 26. The Eastern University Eagles, York College Spartans, and Stevenson University Mustangs will all make the trip to Grantham for the double-elimination style tournament, looking to win this year's MAC Commonwealth title and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Ticket Prices for fans: Adults - $8, Seniors (65+) and Youth (7-17) - $5. MAC Students with their ID and children six and under that are accompanied by an adult can get in for free. Fans should note that at Messiah, only cash is accepted for entry and will be collected on site. Championship merchandise can be purchased

No. 1 Messiah University Falcons

Season Recap
Messiah had a slow 1-6 start to the season but won 10 of their next 11 games to move to 11-7. The Falcons then had a big conference sweep over York College during a 9-3 stretch, moving to 20-10. The Falcons went 5-4 over their final nine games, including a win at Eastern and sweep over Alvernia to clinch the tournament's top seed, finishing with a 25-14 record.

The Mustangs began the season 3-5 heading into conference play. They dropped four of their first six conference games, including getting swept by Messiah. They went 1-3 over their net four games to move to 6-12. The Mustangs then found their form during the second half of season, going on two separate five-game win streaks to finish the year 16-16.

They then won their first game against Messiah to extend their win streak to nine games but dropped the second game, before winning three of their last four games to finish 25-7.
