GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah University Softball team opened MAC Commonwealth tournament action this afternoon against Stevenson University. The Falcons offense was alive right from the start, scoring in the first three innings to fuel a 13-4 win in five innings due to the run rule.
Allie Book led the Falcons with three hits and six RBIs, including a two-run homerun.
Fallon Feaser had three hits and two RBIs, while
Brielle Rosario added three hits with one RBI.
The Falcons are back in action on Friday, May 1, at 12:00 p.m. against York College, with a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Championship on Saturday on the line.

The Mustangs went down in order in the top of the first, with
Rebekah Wiley catching a runner trying to steal second to keep Stevenson off the board.
Brielle Rosario led off the bottom of the first with a double down the left field line.
Lucy Murphy moved Rosario over to third with a sacrifice bunt, and
Fallon Feaser singled to the pitcher and advanced to second after some confusion in the infield.
Allie Book then singled through the infield to score both runners, giving Messiah an early 2-0 lead.
Rebekah Wiley also singled, but the Falcons couldn't add on any more runs.
Fallon Feaser pitched another scoreless frame in the second and
Ashley Bryant led off the bottom half of the inning with a double.
Kylie Thompson came in to pinch run, moving to third after a sacrifice bunt from
Ava Fair.
Brielle Rosario singled to left field to score Thompson, and
Lucy Murphy followed with a double to give Messiah two runners in scoring position.
Fallon Feaser singled to score one run but was thrown out trying to advance to second.
Allie Book came up with one runner on base and sent a 3-1 pitch over the wall in right center to make it 6-0, Messiah.
Rebekah Wiley added her second hit of the game, but the Falcons once again failed to get her home.
After another scoreless inning for
Fallon Feaser,
McKenna Bunting doubled to right center to lead off the inning for Messiah.
Mia Libby came in to pinch run, advanced on a groundout, and scored on an RBI-single from
Ava Fair.
Brielle Rosario and
Lucy Murphy punched back-to-back singles through the left side of the infield to load the bases, and
Fallon Feaser singled to score a run and keep the bases loaded.
Allie Book then singled through the right side to score two more runs, making it 10-0.
Josi Tolentino followed with a two-RBI double, and another run scored after a Mustangs error to make it 13-0.
Stevenson's offense got started in the fourth, scoring four runs on five hits. The Mustangs then got the Falcons to go down in order in the bottom half of the inning, but
Fallon Feaser shut the door in the top of the fifth to give Messiah a 13-4 win in five innings.
