GRANTHAM, Pa – The Messiah Men's Tennis team was back in MAC Commonwealth action today, taking down the Spartans of York College, 7-0, moving to 2-0 in conference play. In doubles, after a quick win on court one, the Falcons also took close matchups on courts two and three to win the doubles point. In singles, the Falcons didn't drop a court, closing out a dominant win.
Up next, the Falcons are back in action at home against Stevenson University on Wednesday, Apr. 15, at 3:30 p.m.
Doubles
Lance Wilson and
Brady Hahn made quick work on court one, winning 6-1. Court two and court three then both finished simultaneously, with
Elijah Noll and
Timothy Sheaffer winning 6-4 on court two, while
Luke Risser and
Xane Whitesel won on court three, 7-5.
Singles
Lance Wilson cruised to a two-set win on court one to start singles play (6-0, 6-0).
Brady Hahn followed with a two-set win on court two (6-1, 6-1).
Timothy Sheaffer also won in convincing fashion on court four (6-1, 6-1), and
Luke Risser won in two sets on court five (6-2, 6-0).
Xane Whitesel then came back from a set down to win in a ten-point tie break on court six (1-6, 6-3, 10-8).
Elijah Noll finished the day on court three, also coming from behind to win in a ten-point tie break (4-6, 6-3, 10-6).
