BEREA, Ohio – On Sunday morning, the Messiah University baseball team dropped game two of the NCAA Super Regionals to the tenth-ranked Yellow Jackets of Baldwin Wallace, 11-2, to close out the 2026 season.
After a scoreless first, the Yellow Jackets got on the board with a run in the top of the second. The Yellow Jackets added to their lead with four runs in the top of the third to take a 5-0 lead. The Falcons responded with two runs in the bottom of the third on a two-run home run from
Isaiah Parido to cut the Yellow Jackets lead to 5-2. The Yellow Jackets responded with four runs in the top of the fourth to extend their lead to 9-2. The Yellow Jackets added a run in the sixth and the seventh, and prevented any Falcons runs the rest of the way to earn the 11-2 win and trip to the DIII College World Series.
David Martinez led the Falcons with three hits and a run scored.
Drew Hurst totaled two hits.
Isaiah Parido hit a two-run home run.
No. 10 Baldwin Wallace 11, Messiah 2
After a scoreless first, the Yellow Jackets opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
The Yellow Jackets added to their lead with four runs in the top of the third to take a 5-0 lead.
The Falcons looked to responded in the bottom of the third. After a pop out,
David Martinez doubled down the right field line.
Isaiah Parido then ripped a two-run home run to center field to cut the Yellow Jackets lead to 5-2. The Falcons added hits from
Drew Hurst and
Cristian Reyna, but the Yellow Jackets got out of the inning to keep their lead at three.
The Yellow Jackets once again scored four runs in the top of the fourth to take a 9-2 lead.
Luke Ott added a single in the bottom of the fourth, but the Falcons could not get a two-out rally going and the Yellow Jackets held onto the 9-2 lead headed into the fifth.
After a scoreless top of the fifth, the Falcons looked to work back into the game into the bottom of the fifth. After a fly out,
Drew Hurst singled to right field.
Landon Mark then walked to put runners on first and second with one out. The Yellow Jackets got a fly out and a ground out to keep the Falcons off the board and the score remained 9-2 headed into the top of the sixth.
The Yellow Jackets then added a run in the sixth and the seventh inning to take an 11-2 lead headed into the bottom of the seventh.
The Falcons added two hits from
David Martinez and a hit from
Hudson Rue, but the Yellow Jackets held the Falcons off the scoreboard to earn the 11-2 win.

2026 Season Recap
The 2026 Messiah Baseball team had another historic season in 2026. The Falcons won their second-straight MAC Commonwealth Championship to head to the NCAA Tournament. After falling the Regional opener, the Falcons rattled off four-straight wins to head to the Super Regionals for just the second time in program history. The Falcons now have won 30 or more games in the last three seasons, after having zero in their first 59 seasons.
