GRANTHAM, Pa. – After 25 years of coaching, Messiah University Athletics and Messiah women's soccer program thanks coach Todd Balsbaugh for his dedication to the Messiah University Women's Soccer team. Coach Balsbaugh will step down in his role as assistant coach after two decades of dedication to the Messiah Women's Soccer program.
Coach Balsbaugh helped lead the Messiah Women's Soccer program for 25 years to a 501-33-37 overall record. During his time at Messiah the Falcons have won six National Championships and 21 Conference Championships. The Falcons have reached the NCAA Tournament 24 times with coach Balsbaugh with 10 National Championship game appearances and 15 Final Four appearances.
During his time at Messiah, Balsbaugh has coached many talented players. He has coached seven National Players of the Year, 44 All-Americans, and 97 All-Region honors. Balsbaugh also has coached 27 Conference Players of the Year and11 Conference Rookies of the Year.

"Todd (Boz) has been a central fixture in this program for 25 years. He was a constant presence as the program developed into one of the top Division III programs in the country. His influence on the lives of each player who came through this team is evident when you speak with them. There is a saying that simply says "Boz Knows". It is a very true testament to how he was so good at recognizing when a player needed an encouraging word or what to do in any situation. You could trust that his words were sincere, honest, and from the heart. Boz led a "Love and Respect" video series for many springs that gave guidance to interested players as they prepared for their lives ahead of dating and marriage.
For me, personally it is hard to imagine Boz not sitting beside me as he has done for over 500 games or traveling together to recruit the next players in the team. He was my sounding board and his steady presence and insight into players and situations were invaluable. His dedication and love for the team and program were unquestionable as he has driven over an hour each day to serve this team. A special thanks to Nichole and his family (Abigail and Daniel) who were a part of the MWS family as well. Boz's impact, influence, and stories will live on for years to come."
