GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Wednesday evening, the eighth-ranked Messiah University women's soccer team fell to the sixth-ranked Profs of Rowan University, 1-0. After some back-and-forth play, the Profs scored a goal in the 31st minute to take the lead. The Falcons tallied a shot on goal in the first half, but it was saved to keep the Falcons off the board. The Falcons could not find the back of the net in the second half and the Profs earned the hard fought, 1-0 win.

First Half
After some back-and-forth play, the Profs got the first shot on goal in the 16th minute, but
Ellie Ockrin made the save to keep the game scoreless. The Falcons offense looked for a chance to break the scoreless tie in the 23rd minute with a shot on goal from
Addi Martin, but the shot was saved by the Prof's goalkeeper to keep the Falcons off the board. The Profs though broke the scoreless tie in the 31st minute. The Falcons could not add a shot on goal in the remaining 14 minutes, and the Profs held onto the 1-0 lead at the break.
Second Half
After some tight defense from both teams, the Falcons looked for a chance to tie the game in the 77th minute. The Falcons earned a corner and sent a ball into the box.
Addi Martin got a head on the ball, but the shot went just high and the Profs held onto their 1-0 lead. The Falcons could not add a shot on goal in the remaining 13 minutes, and Rowan earned the 1-0 win.

The Falcons totaled seven shots with one shot on goal. Rowan tallied three shots on goal. The Falcons earned three corner kicks to the Profs two.
Ellie Ockrin started in goal for the Falcons and made two saves.
