50 Years of Messiah University Athletics

In the early 1960's, a committee made up of faculty and students began a major review of the athletics extramural program. It was decided that students with exceptional athletic skills needed to compete with similarly talented athletes from other schools. It was also decided that Messiah would have a new name for their athletic teams– the Falcons.
Fast forward 50 years, and see what Messiah University Athletics has become:
• 12-time NCAA Division III National Championships teams
• Over 60 Commonwealth Conference Championships in the last 10 years alone
• Over 100 NCAA All-American Awards
• 14 of the last 16 years finishing in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup
...and this is only a glimpse!
Join us this year as we celebrate the tradition and legacy of the Falcons, and as we recognize student-athletes, coaches, and community members that have helped Messiah achieve its athletic mission of pursuing athletic excellence and developing Christian character!
Be sure to participate in the voting of the Top 50 student-athletes in Messiah University history:
And don't forget– sign up today to be a member of the
